Pixel Mosaic Technique

Pixel mosaic, traditionally called Opus regulatum in Latin, is a type of decoration, made of square, identical in size, multi-colored tesserae, laid in a grid-like pattern where grout lines are aligned both vertically and horizontally and are of the same width. Thus, the image looks like pixel computer graphics.

Pixel Mosaic Technique

This kind of mosaic can be created based on any picture or photograph. What should be remembered is that, executed in this technique, complex pictures with numerous objects or with a wide color palette will need a spacious room to provide a distance of several meters to look at the mosaic. Simple geometric patterns show well not requiring long distance.
